Just wrapped up a fantastic week at LSI #LSI2024. Thank you Scott Pantel and Henry Peck for inviting me to participate in the session “Transitions of Leadership: Challenges and Considerations in Installing New Management” Joe Mullings led an engaging discussion on the often hard-learned insights for anyone navigating leadership transitions. The journey of innovation was illuminated by a spectrum of diverse perspectives from incubator/founder (Zoar Engelman), to funder (Terri Burke), to CEO (Mark Christopherson). Some key takeaways that resonated with me: - Addressing potential roadblocks: be prepared for challenges like resistance to change and unclear roles. Use proactive planning and clear communication to mitigate these issues. - Supporting the strengths of incoming leadership: use executive coaching on an individual and team basis to build a strong foundation during the transition period. - Importance of the Board of Directors: This group is your partner in guiding a company to ultimate success.
