For me, data literacy means having the comfort and confidence to work with data—for everyone. You don't have to be a data scientist but let's help develop more confidence in using data. People are probably more data literate than they think. Do you use a weather app to tell the weather? Well, you are using data to possibly make the decision on what to wear that day. If you want to get promoted as a data engineer, don't focus on completing 1000 tasks, focus on how to eliminate the need for 1000 tasks. That's some of the early advice my manager at Facebook gave me. And it really hit home. It just makes sense whether you're a data engineer trying to get a promotion or someone starting a company. You're always looking to figure out how to take your skills and scale them out. How can you use what you understand about a problem to create leverage and amplify your limited resources.
