"Is Jesus in your mission statement?" - A new friend asked me over coffee. That was challenging. I'm still thinking about it. I'm working now to clarify my mission statement, who I best serve, and how I serve them. Seven months into a new business and we've already experienced significant business and personal growth. I think I prefer a bit more subtlety. I think I'd rather invite questions than start with statements. If you're the type of person who has read this far then I value your feedback. Years ago Matt and I served together at a church camp for kids. He was running sound and video while I think I was playing bass that year. That may have been when I was still spiking my hair. That was a bad phase. Years later we got to add a business component to our friendship and its been a joy to work with the Mileys. A Tale of Two Referrals FIRST: A couple was referred by their CPA. I emailed the CPA last week with a list of things we'd made progress on and the HUGE savings we had just captured in one of the elements of this couple's financial plan. SECOND: A gentleman and I talked after a friend of his from church recommended he get a second opinion on his retirement from me. We chatted two times on the phone, got acquainted, and I was able to confirm that his current advisor was doing a great job - and that he should stay there. ?????? ??
