Jurycommentaar: “De Silphie plant is mogelijk een goede alternatieve teelt voor de akkerbouw, omdat het meerjarige gewas, ook wel genaamd De Zonnekroon, een zeer hoge meerwaarde heeft op gebied van bodemverbetering en biodiversiteit.” De papierverpakkingen van Decowraps Europe zijn deels gemaakt van de Silphie plant (zonnekroon). De vezels van deze plant worden gebruikt voor papierproductie, wat de behoefte aan bomen vermindert. Dit duurzame papier beschermt sierteeltproducten en draagt bij aan biodiversiteit en bodemkwaliteit. Een mooie stap richting een circulaire sierteeltsector. Duurzaamheid, noviteiten en vernieuwing zijn belangrijk voor de sierteeltsector.
