Writer and editor Kristin Müller created Aaino as a home for all the things she wanted to share with the world. Aaino is filled with stories of objects made by notable people, snippets of remarkable places, and personal tales from Müller’s life. Each piece of content that finds a home on the website is carefully curated to inspire, amuse and connect. At the end of the day, Aaino is a dynamic and flexible brand that lives and grows alongside its community and content. When Aaino was just a concept, Müller reached out to W—E studio to define the brand’s DNA and identity. The studio developed the elegant branding, with a sharp, stylish wordmark – along with the logo of an ‘A’ with a dot atop it – and also shaped the look and feel of the website, passing the baton to Decimal Studios to build the editorial platform. Our collaboration with MIND began with Eddie Opara’s team at Pentagram. We worked together to deliver a dynamic, clear, and visually engaging website, built with Next.js and hosted on Vercel. JPP discusses how Long Lead considers story pitches when they come in, taking a step back to ask, “What does this story want to be?†He shares, "We take the idea and then build the framework to support your story — which is why no two Long Lead features look the same." A big part of this comes from working with partners like design studio Decimal Studios to help turn photo essays, like Webby-Award-winning feature LIFTING UKRAINE, into technical multimedia masterpieces.
