World Mental Health Day was established on October 10, 1992, to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and to reduce the stigma surrounding the issue. The theme for World Mental Health Day 2024 is "It is time to prioritize mental health in the workplace.” At DEA, we prioritize a workplace where employees are supported in their mental well-being. That's why we provide a wide range of mental health resources, including: ? Mental health webinars and online resources. ? A 24/7 Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for counseling on issues such as marital or family problems, emotional or mental health issues, substance abuse, stress problems, eating disorders, and more. ? A Lifestyle Spending Account for physical and emotional well-being purchases, such as meditation classes, music, reading accessories, retreats, and self-help books. ? Free Calm App Memberships. We believe having mentally resilient, happy, and healthy employees is vital to DEA’s success. #WorldMentalHealthDay

CANstruction 2024! DEA and Hennebery Eddy Architects participated in the 2024 Portland CANstruction competition, creating "S'quash Hunger"—a Sasquatch-inspired sculpture using 2,967 cans, all donated to the Oregon Food Bank. Our design earned three awards: Best Meal, Structural Ingenuity, and People’s Choice! The resulting Mission Statement was: “Finding Bigfoot is no small feat, but ending hunger doesn't have to be. Many Oregonians go hungry, not just those with big appetites. We’re on the hunt for innovative solutions to stomp out food insecurity and leave behind a footprint for progress. Let’s banish hunger Sasquatch-style and make hunger as mythical as Bigfoot.” A huge thanks to everyone involved in making a positive impact and tackling food insecurity! We can’t wait for next year’s CANstruction! #CANstructionpdx #CommunityImpact #FightingHunger #Architecture #Engineering
