Another fun session with our partners at the Chicago Park District Deaf/ hard of hearing program. They have been our partners for many years now and are the only CPD program that even offers what we do! We have hosted dozens and dozens of sessions for our students there with so many wonderful outcomes. It’s important to note that the equipment was supported by the CME Group Foundation lead by the awesome Eva Giglio! Our program keeps growing with more and more students every time. Our last session at EEESMA School for the Deaf in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico was absolutely phenomenal! Our brilliant students had a capstone project that incorporated programming, circuits, design thinking, and full on engineering! Though these are tasks usually reserved for college level students, our students crushed through this challenge. It’s worth appreciating because these students commute from up to two hours away just to attend. Though many come from rural communities that may lack access to WiFi, and any type of technology at home, just watch them power through this challenge! Their pride, enthusiasm, GRIT, and perseverance are the essential qualities that will help them go so far! NEVER UNDERESTIMATE ANYONE! Just look at what they created from their own imaginations in one day!
