“I like the job because I know that I’m making a difference for everybody and not just case by case.” – Tim Jin, Special Consultant for the Department’s Self Determination Program in the Policy and Program Development Division #NDEAM2024 For National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we are spotlighting some of our Department’s talent.?The theme for #NDEAM this year is “Access to Good Jobs for All”.?So, we asked Tim, what does that mean to you??He said, “Easy, being able to change your economic status and being an average Joe. All while showing to other employers that people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities are more than capable of having a career here.” In the photo shown, Tim is visiting Baltimore when he was asked to present at the National Self Direction Conference in March.?Tim says his job is great for him because he likes listening to the public, observing the common trends, and giving recommendations to the team to find the best way to come up with solutions.?He says it’s all about working with people that see your assets, make accommodations, and see you as another colleague and contributor to the team. We’re grateful that Tim is our colleague and contributor to the Self-Determination Program Team! Thanks to him and everyone sharing their stories for NDEAM in 2024.
