In his first State of the Union Address, President Washington said, "To be prepared for war is one of the most effective means of preserving peace." Peace through Strength is a charge that DOD maintains to this day, and is built on supremely equipped people in uniform, and their ability to be lethal and ready. President Washington would be proud of our nation and of the dedicated men and women who serve in our defense forces, including the trusted professionals at #DCMA.

So proud of U.S. Navy Capt. Nicholas Russo - formerly part of the #DCMA contract administration workforce. Congratulations and HOOYAH!!
ENS Robert Matos was honored to recognize U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa/U.S. 6th Fleet Force Logistics Director CAPT Nicholas Russo as today's Lore of the Corps spotlight. With a distinguished career spanning sea and shore assignments — including USS Thach (FFG 43), USS Russell (DDG 59), USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) Aircraft Carrier and leadership roles in Naval #logistics — this proud Bay Area native and U.S. Naval Academy graduate has played a vital role in strengthening the Navy’s operational readiness. As a seasoned Supply Officer, CAPT Russo emphasizes the impact of logistics on mission success: "If the Supply Officer and their department aren’t effectively managing the ship or command, it signals a broader issue." He also highlights the importance of mentorship, advising junior officers to ask questions, build strong networks, and maintain a solid reputation: "The Supply Corps is a small community — you never know who might be on your promotion or milestone board." His leadership at the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and global contract administration underscores his #commitment to #readiness and strategic #partnerships. Finally, CAPT Russo reminds us that continuous learning and adaptability are key to overcoming challenges: "Read, educate yourself, and don’t be afraid to ask questions — even of senior officers." #mentorship #SupplyCorps #NavyLeadership #whatrightlookslike
