It's an honor to announce that our team at Department of Biomedical Informatics, UCSD and UC San Diego Health (Gabriel Wardi MD, James Ford MD, Farinaz Koushanfar, PhD) in collaboration with UC Irvine (PI: Kai Zheng, PhD), and UCLA (PI: Russell Kerbel MD MBA) has received support from the University of California Office of the President (UCOP) to expand our COMPOSER sepsis AI algorithm to more emergency departments across California. This life-saving technology has the potential to save 8,000 lives annually by detecting early signs of infection and enabling timely treatment.
