The DBHDS Division of Developmental Services hosted leaders from Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities yesterday. Georgia requested to meet with the team to learn about processes put in place to support individuals with complex medical and behavioral needs. We were excited to share the Intense Management Needs Review Process and Behavior Support Plan Adherence Review Instrument as well as lessons learned. We had an amazing exchange of information!

?? Today, some of our Cohort 6 and Cohort 7 Virginia Management Fellows participated in REVIVE! training, the Commonwealth of Virginia's opioid overdose and naloxone education (OONE) program. This vital training equips participants with the knowledge and tools to help save lives in cases of opioid overdose. A huge thank you to Tiana Vazquez from DBHDS for leading this important session! “We are really excited to share with our girls and their parents and caregivers and teachers an opportunity for them to learn more about mental well-being and how to show up for each other,” said Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline Chief Executive Officer Nikki Williams.

“We're just trying to raise awareness. We're also doing revive training. So we have 'save life kits' in which we teach, the community what to do in the event of an opioid overdose,” Ashanti Kincannon said.
