Mark your calendars for the Market Watch Business Summit presented by Bank of America on Tuesday, December 5 from 7:30-9:30am, to get a sneak preview of the 2025 economy. This economic forecast event is a partnership of the Daytona Regional Chamber and Team Volusia Economic Development Corporation. The local forecast segment of the event will feature a panel discussion on three key topics for the business community: workforce, housing & real estate, and insurance. Panelists include: Marci Murphy, Executive Director, CareerSource Brevard Flagler Volusia Bill Navarra, Broker and Co-Owner, Realty Pros Assured Andrew Watts, Executive VP, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer, Brown & Brown Insurance Following the local forecast, a "big picture" perspective will be provided with a keynote presentation from Keith Richard, Ph.D., Vice President, Research, with the Florida Chamber of Commerce Foundation. We understand that these storms can have big impacts on your business, your employees, friends and families. We encourage you to use Monday, October 7 & Tuesday, October 8 to make sure your emergency preparation plans are in place. With the current track, conditions will begin to deteriorate on Wednesday afternoon, October 9 through the evening and overnight into Thursday, October 10. Please follow reliable resources like our Volusia County Emergency Management Center, to obtain real-time information. Residents can also reach the CIC (Citizens Information Center) at 866-345-0345 with questions. The Chamber office will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday. Your chamber staff will monitor the storm from safe locations and will respond to your questions and needs as long as they have electricity and internet access.
