Winter Coat Collection! ???? DPS is collecting new and unworn scarves, hats, gloves, and coats of any size for students in need! Last year was a huge success - we would love to double the donations. Both Belmont and Dunbar's bands performed during the Wilberforce Homecoming parades! ?? This is a great representation of the growth of our band programs at DPS. Way to go! ??

Performing pumpkinectomies! ?? Students in Meadowdale's Surgical Technology pathway spent Halloween creating their own Jack-O-Lanterns but made it more technical. This was a creative way for students to apply their skills!

Cooking class fun! ?? OSU Fun with Food held a cooking class for Belmont Middle School students! During this session, the students identified different fruits based on their colors. The students worked together to prepare macaroni and cheese with broccoli. Mrs. Cici, the instructor, explained how easy it is to add vegetables to meals to enhance their nutritional value!

You asked, we had the Kindergarteners answer! ?? Ask a Kindergartener Episode 1 is here and you don't want to miss this. We headed to Kiser Elementary and let the Kindergarteners take it from there! Get ready to laugh and hear ALL they had to say ??

Louise Troy Security Resource Officer, Chaz Amos, partnered with Dayton Police, Fire, Bomb Squad and SWAT for a day dedicated to safety! ?????? Students saw how the K9 Officer obeys commands, participated in a fire simulator to teach them how to exit a room filling with smoke safely, and so much more. What an important experience for them!

Next Gem Innovators! 9 DPS staff members from Thurgood, EJ Brown and Dunbar are participating in STEM-based project through the DoD STEM grant. These projects are lesson plans, projects, partnerships, or district-level professional development to promote STEM. Excited to see what they come up with!
