The Day Kimball Healthcare Foundation “Dueling Pianos” event raised $25,000 for Day Kimball Health’s in-home care services, including HomeCare and Hospice & Palliative Care. Presented by WIN Waste Innovations, the fundraiser took place on Saturday, Nov. 9 at The Raceway Golf Club and Restaurant in Thompson, CT. Proceeds from the event will directly support DKH patients and their families by funding vital services not typically covered by insurance, ensuring they receive high-quality, compassionate care in the comfort of their homes. The event featured a high-energy performance by Savage Pianos, a nationally renowned dueling piano show known for its interactive, energetic rock & roll infused show. The talented musicians entertained a sold-out crowd of 250 guests with hits ranging from Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” to Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club”, contributing $1,000 in tips towards the total amount raised. Last week, Dr. David Chaletsky, CTGI, and Day Kimball Health’s Endoscopy team performed the first-ever WATS3D biopsy for diagnosing Barrett’s esophagus in eastern Connecticut. This cutting-edge procedure, known as Wide Area Transepithelial 3-Dimensional Biopsy (WATS3D), marks a significant advancement in detecting and diagnosing esophageal conditions. Unlike standard forceps biopsies, which sample smaller, localized areas, WATS3D collects a much larger tissue area, greatly improving the accuracy of detecting abnormalities. This technique enhances early detection of Barrett’s esophagus and dysplasia, conditions that can lead to esophageal cancer if left untreated. Thank you to our entire team for their expertise in making this achievement possible. It underscores our commitment to providing high-quality medical care close to home.
