In addition to his role at Davis Farr, Jon currently serves as the Chair of the CalCPA Government Accounting and Auditing Committee, a prestigious leadership position that recognizes his expertise and dedication to advancing industry standards. Here’s a glimpse into Jon’s insights and leadership philosophy: What inspires you most about Davis Farr’s mission and culture? “Watching our auditors grow and thrive as their careers progress. As government auditors, we’re guided by standards that emphasize serving the public interest—a responsibility we take to heart. It’s incredibly rewarding to see an auditor develop their skills, embrace this mission, and make a meaningful impact through their work.” Your advice for young professionals entering the field? “First and foremost, obtain your CPA license. It’s such an important step in progressing your career. Secondly, make it a priority to understand the work you are performing. It can be easy to check the boxes, but obtaining an inherent understanding of the audit work will help immensely in your career.” How do you unwind outside of work? “I love exploring new areas with my family. We’ve been dispersed camping throughout California with our travel trailer, with recent favorites including Death Valley National Park and the Mojave Desert.” Jon’s commitment to both professional and personal growth is a testament to the values we uphold at Davis Farr.
