Supporting Emerging Talent and the Future of Design: DavisFurniture recently sponsored the Furniture Design Build Studio and Elements Design Competition for Interior Design at the University of Oklahoma. This studio challenged 17 senior Interior Design students to design, fabricate, and showcase original furniture pieces alongside complementary prototype designs for Davis’ Elements line of interior accessories. Mentored by Davis Furniture’s Creative Director Joseph Namyst and OU Professors Chelsea Holcomb & Elizabeth Pober, students aligned their Elements designs with Davis’ brand and product offering, resulting in dynamic conceptual prototypes. While these pieces will not be produced commercially, the competition provided valuable real-world experience, emphasizing creativity and technical skill development.
