KEEPING OUR PROMISE TO AMERICA'S VETERANS
关于我们
DAV (Disabled American Veterans) is a leading nonprofit that provides a lifetime of support for veterans of all generations and their families. Every year, we help more than 1 million veterans in positive, life-changing ways by helping them access benefits they earned, like healthcare, education and disability, and connecting them to meaningful employment opportunities. We are committed to ensuring that the men and women who stood up for America have the tools, resources and opportunities they need to competitively enter the job market and secure meaningful employment. DAV recognizes the value, talent, education and work ethics that veterans add to the workforce. Through our partnership with RecruitMilitary, DAV sponsors career fairs, including virtual events, to connect veterans with employers nationwide who are committed to hiring them. “I found out I lost my job off the clock, on my day off—without a warning, without a meeting, without even a termination letter. Just a locked computer screen and a stunned supervisor confirming the news. And here’s the worst part: the veterans lost more than I did.” -Kara Oliver, Navy veteran - Fired from Department of Veterans Affairs Visit https://lnkd.in/grcA_ztc to learn more.

We encourage everyone to gather a group of friends, family or — if you’re a member — your DAV chapter and all pledge an hour to serve veterans during DAV Community Impact Day on Saturday, April 5. On March 19, 2003, Operation Iraqi Freedom began. 22 years later, we honor the service and sacrifice of all who served during this time. DAV is here to support OIF veterans as they navigate the challenges of life after service. Did you serve during Operation Iraqi Freedom? Let us know about your experience in the comments! #OIFVeterans #Veterans #DAV

“I hope that whoever is doing it—the president, DOGE, Elon Musk or whoever—I hope they really sit down and be like, ‘Hey, we are really affecting these veterans here.' You know, financial wise and mental health wise.” -Andrea Ball, Air Force veteran, fired from General Service Administration. “We all understand that everyone has to sacrifice, but I wish somebody understood how differently this could have been done rather than just a panic and no processes. And I’m relying on those who represent me and my family to hopefully speak up or be able to speak up in a way that I can’t.”-Rebecca Citron, Air Force veteran - Fired from Department of Veterans Affairs Visit https://lnkd.in/grcA_ztc to learn more. #veterans #military #federaljobs #DOGE #veteranjobs #federallayoffs

March is Brain Injury Awareness Month. Traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) are signature wounds of recent wars. But did you know that most TBIs that occur during service are not the result of combat? Military physicians most commonly treat TBIs as a result of vehicle collisions, falls, or even accidental weapon discharges. Check out DAV's TBI resource page below to learn more and find valuable resources.
