On March 13th, the Data Foundation partnered with Stanford Law School and the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability to host a conference on "Increasing Accessibility to Trusted Climate Performance Data." I've summarized key takeaways from my perspective below. ?? The conference focused on a critical challenge: how to make climate data accessible, trusted, and actionable for communities across the U.S. Bringing together experts in methane, carbon dioxide removal, and forestry, we examined practical approaches to democratizing environmental intelligence. ?? Special thanks to our Data Foundation team members Ryan Alexander and Sonia Wang, to David J. Hayes for his leadership, to the indefatigable Julia Lane for her framework on building effective data infrastructure, to Jason Burnett for demonstrating how neighborhood-level emissions data can empower local decision-makers, and to all our speakers and participants. The path forward requires strategic collaboration and starting with clear value propositions – exactly what we're building through efforts like our Climate Data Collaborative.
