This Thanksgiving week, we are especially grateful to welcome two new team members, Kristina Bullington and Bianca M.! Bianca, our Data Skills Trainer, excels at translating complex data concepts into actionable insights tailoring her teaching approach to diverse learners. Drawing from her experience in military intelligence operations and healthcare, Bianca delivers training rooted in practical, real-world relevance. Tina, our Project Coordinator, brings hands-on experience managing service-learning initiatives and informal education workshops. She blends her skills in program management and communication to connect students with community centered projects that drive meaningful social impact. Together, they will play key roles in shaping our new National Science Foundation (NSF) funded program that will train over 200 women veterans in data skills. We’re excited to see the positive impact they’ll make as part of our team and look forward to what we can accomplish together! #dataforgood #workforcedevelopment

Data Elevates (DE) understands the power of data to improve quality of life, particularly in low and middle income countries (LMICs). However, these countries are also the most often left behind in the data revolution. DE addresses this issue head on through data analytics trainings in underserved areas, capacity building efforts, project-base work leveraging LMIC university relationships, and data analytics collaborations between public and private sector. All of these lines of work are designed to empower the next generation of data to insight specialists.

Across the nonprofit landscape, there is near universal agreement that data and AI are important skills and tools to be leveraged. The case for data and AI in social impact has been sufficiently made. But who will develop those skills and leverage those tools is a different story. In this month’s LinkedIn newsletter, we feature data, use cases, and practical resources that make the case for why women must be on the leading edge of #data and #AI for impact. The USAID Enhancing Quality of Healthcare Activity II (USAID EQHA II) is a five-year project (October 23, 2023–October 22, 2028) led by FHI 360 in partnership with the Khmer HIV/AIDS Nongovernmental Organization (NGO) Alliance (KHANA) and local partners Kawsang, ThinkWell, and Data Elevates. The project aims to further improve and sustain service quality by strengthening a harmonized Cambodian high-quality health system that will lead to better health outcomes for all Cambodians. USAID EQHA II aligns with the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) Fourth Health Strategic Plan (2023–2033) and USAID’s Vision for Health System Strengthening 2030. The project will build on the achievements of the Royal Government of Cambodia and its partners to enhance evidence-based policies, guidelines, and strategies for efficient health systems; improve individual and institutional capacity of both public and private sectors to implement, monitor, and evaluate quality assurance according to the national standards; and improve individual and institutional capacity of subnational health systems to provide quality services to address emerging national program priorities.

To accelerate social impact, we need a workforce with the skills to harness the power of?#data?and #AI. In Perry Hewitt’s latest Devex op-ed, she highlights that women and underrepresented communities offer our greatest potential, and we leave them behind at our own risk. Read the full story and learn how DataDotOrg's Generative AI Skills Challenge, supported by Microsoft and EY, clearly reinforced that meaningful progress and inclusive growth will be possible only when women are part of the solution. ?? https://lnkd.in/eZbAfkrn #DataDrivesImpact #AIDrivesImpact GIEVA.Org, Daniel Obaka, Myna Mahila Foundation, Suhani Jalota, Data Elevates, Rob Segan, Prem Durairaj, Gregory Bianchi, Anne Sawyer Shields, Lindsey Gottschalk, Joanne Jan
