Fantastic experience at API World in Santa Clara over the last two days! Great conversations about API testing, java code testing, and service virtualization. So many discussions around how AI is changing the API development and testing landscape. Thanks DevNetwork for hosting a fantastic conference!
It’s the final day at API World! Don’t miss your chance—stop by Parasoft’s booth #522 for a last look at our AI-powered testing solutions. Let’s talk about how we can accelerate and automate your API testing!

Fantastic time at API World today where I had the opportunity to speak about how M9 has architected its agentic APIs to perform AI inferences at source and thereby unlocking secure and efficient AI workflows to boost individual productivity! I also sat down with DevNetwork to share my thoughts on how locally inferred AI can remove barriers to adoption of AI for enterprises! Shoutout to Haley Miranda for all the support!

I ?? IRL. It takes a lot of energy to work your way around an exhibition hall, dip in and out of technical talks, and strike up conversations with strangers. But, I am reminded this week that I find it super invigorating. I spent today at API World chatting with some more leaders in the space and learning a lot. From the DevNetwork media lounge, Bailey (Gannett) DeCamillis and I did interviews to explore what’s hurting (pain points) and what’s hot (trends) in the world of APIs, and bonus: are you team API Mangement or team API development? Why this last question? Well, it’s struck us that the industry has largely focused on how to manage APIs: to govern resources, enforce methodologies, and control sprawl. Whereas, some of us are starting to focus more on the developers that actually build the APIs and what does that process actually look like. How can we make it easier for developers to actually DO the developing for better outcomes. As you might expect, it wasn’t a clear cut answer for most. There’s obviously an interplay, but the question elicited some fascinating perspectives on the intention and priorities organizations should have when working to leverage API optionally for innovation (I’m so adopting your lingo, Stephen Fishman !!). Here are a few things we heard: ?? Duh, DevEx. It’s the experience that matters. We cannot escape our humanness. People want to do things that feel good. They don’t want to do things that are forced on them. Developers are clearly not immune to this and we need to stop thinking of technology strategy without this reality in mind. - Adam DuVander ????The benefits of prioritizing developers experience pays off. And that means for internal developers too, not just the third party partners and other consumers of public APIs. - Adrian Machado ?? Governance can’t be ignored, and when it is designed to address mutual stakeholders needs, it can be successful. - sumit kumar ?? Good documentation is still key and AI can help. It doesn’t have to be the thing that’s a threat to jobs; it can be a thing that makes the work easier and more. - Sidney Maestre Thanks to all of these folks for their thoughts (and elaborations welcome!).
