Bridge the gap between academia and industry for the Dartmouth community.
关于我们
The Dartmouth Biotech Club (DBC) is a graduate student organization that believes that your future is important! Less than 10% of PhDs will obtain tenure track positions, which means we need additional training to be competitive in the job market. The DBC provides educational programs that allow members to explore the world of business and biotechnology. Our mission is to bridge the gap between industry and academia by providing education, skills training, and networking opportunities for students to succeed in life science innovation and commercialization.

Over the last few months, I've had the privilege of building an initiative that connects Foley Hoag LLP with the Dartmouth Innovations Accelerator for Cancer — serving as mentors and advisors to teams of entrepreneurs. Having been a two-time awarded participant in this accelerator myself, it’s especially meaningful to give back to the next generation of innovators at Dartmouth. As part of this initiative, Amy Baker Mandragouras, Patrick Connolly ('01), and I had the opportunity to visit in person, where we attended a Founders Q&A hosted by the Accelerator and spoke to students in the Dartmouth Biotech Club. We discussed many of the legal and strategic challenges of bringing innovations to market and had insightful conversations about the emerging technologies within the Dartmouth ecosystem. Huge thanks to Amy and Patrick on the Foley team, as well as Angela Presley, PhD and Barry Schweitzer at the DIAC for their collaboration and support in driving this initiative forward.?Thanks to Melanie Peck for organizing our seminar with the Biotech Club. The Dartmouth community may be small, but packs a big punch when it comes to developing impactful life science technologies. We look forward to continuing our work with the Dartmouth entrepreneurial community. If you're working on groundbreaking biotech innovations or interested in discussing how the Foley team can support emerging startups, let’s connect! https://lnkd.in/gkKFX3MB
