Darlington County School District will be holding a Career Exploration Fair on Friday, September 27th at Coker University's Deloach Center. Students in 7th, 10th, and 11th grade in all DCSD schools will participate, as well as time open to the public for you to take applications or meet with potential workers that are available now! Our first #CareerTimeTuesday was a success! Today, DCSD 5th graders had the opportunity to hear about careers in Agriculture, Natural Resources, Architecture, or Construction. Thank you to the SC Department of Natural Resources, Geiger Consulting, SC Forestry Commission, Covered in Cotton, Deputy Chief John Shoemake and Chief Ricky Flowers from Darlington County Fire, Clemson Extension Program, and many more, for sharing your career with our students! Yesterday Sonoco hosted a reception for their graduating high school interns from Darlington County School District. Sonoco is a dedicated partner with the Key to Career internship program and we are thankful for the investment they make in the lives of our students. In 2022, we embarked on an exciting journey to bring eSports to Darlington County School District students, and we proudly achieved this goal in January 2023 with the launch of our first eSports stadium and district-wide eSports team. We're now taking it to the next level by launching state-of-the-art eSport stadiums and teams at two high schools in the 2024-2025 school year, with a third to follow soon after.
