Jamie Stephens, founder of the Jo Rising Foundation, a nonprofit organization to support children with primary lymphedema and their families, reached out to DARCO International last year to tell us her story about our Body Armor Cast Shoe. ? She discovered that this shoe, designed to protect casts, was the perfect shoe for her daughter Maddie Jo, who is living with primary lymphedema and is the inspiration for the Jo Rising Foundation. After struggling with ill-fitting footwear that limited her ability to participate in everyday childhood activities, the Body Armor Cast Shoe allowed her to rejoin gym class, ride her bike again, and even play in a bounce house at her friend's birthday party! ? When Jamie invited DARCO International's Direct Sales Manager Ian Darby to participate in the Jo Rising Foundation color run, he couldn't book at flight to Arkansas fast enough! He learned from many adults and children living with lymphedema just how hard it was to find treatments and products that helped so they could perform everyday activities of daily living that we often take for granted. ?
