?? SCAM ALERT! Fake job offers are getting more elaborate on LinkedIn. I received several fake offers like this, and it is easy to identify some red flags. However, I’d like to share a scam that got my attention due to the effort invested to make a fake job more attractive. I have included some images to complement the post, and please pay attention to these red flags: ?? The account has been compromised. The profile has little information, and the?account has no background image. Additionally, this profile has no data related to Web3 projects or blockchain companies. ?? Usually, they send a message explaining a project with the same characteristics: “A Web2 project that wants to integrate crypto and modify a front-end.” Also, the message makes no sense. They claimed that “I reached them,” which, of course, I didn’t. ?? The scammer shares a job description with different “opportunities”. They created a website with “job offers”, including reasonable salaries. Usually, they offer crazy annual incomes.?Finally, they ask you to complete a form with personal information and a TASK to complete! ?? This is the dangerous part. This task includes visiting a bitbucket repository to install and configure a project. Which, of course, is very dangerous! By the way, they ask you to configure your .env file to paste a private key ; ). Additionally, they request you to use a particular “Moralis API Key” to configure the “back-end”. Please be very cautious when receiving these “offers” on LinkedIn: ? Keep your information safe, and do not solve any tasks before having at least an interview with the recruiter. ? Ensure this interview is a video call, and request any information you need to feel comfortable. ? Do not solve any tasks that require installing software on your computer. Soon, it will be more common to have a conversation with an AI avatar. If you feel this is the case, ask the interviewer to move their hand before their face and pay attention to their reaction. Be careful and stay safe!
