This week is National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week — a dedicated time to promote accurate information and raise awareness about substance use. Organized by The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), the week encourages open discussions and helps teens make informed decisions based on science-backed facts. At #DannysRide, we understand the importance of education in both preventing substance use and supporting recovery. By sharing the right knowledge and fostering meaningful conversations, we contribute to building a stronger, healthier community ??

Access to treatment shouldn’t come with a three-hour wait. Yet, for many seeking opioid treatment, transportation remains a major barrier. Studies show that 26% of individuals relying on public transit can’t reach an Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) within 180 minutes. Even for those who can, the majority of their journey is spent walking or waiting — not actually getting the care they need. At #DannysRide, we’re working to change that. By providing reliable transportation to recovery services, we’re ensuring that the availability of a ride doesn’t determine access to treatment ??

As of February 5, we’re proud to celebrate a major milestone of providing over 40,000 rides to 4,634 riders ?? In our early years, from 2020 to 2022, we provided just 1,000 rides. Now, just a few years later, we’ve expanded our reach and impact.
