On #WorldTeachersDay, we want to give a special shoutout to all the incredible Teaching Artists who make Dancing Classrooms Philly's work possible. Thank you for using your talent and expertise to bring dance into the lives of so many students!

At the AIIR Consulting Summit 2024, Michael Platt shared his expertise on the "Neuroscience of Team Effectiveness," one of many incredibly inspiring sessions I am grateful to have experienced! One key takeaway really stood out for me: the crucial role of eye contact in fostering human synchrony. When we engage in eye contact, we not only strengthen our connections but also enhance our ability to communicate and empathize. This concept resonates deeply with the transformative work of Dancing Classrooms Philly. We harness the power of dance (and yes, eye contact!!) to create meaningful interactions for young people. Dancing together fosters not only physical synchrony but also emotional connections, building confidence and community. In our increasingly digital world, it’s vital to remember the importance of face-to-face interactions. Programs like DCP exemplify how eye contact and shared experiences can lead to greater understanding and unity among diverse groups. Throwback to last year's Principals' Breakfast! We loved hearing our talented students talk about how our ballroom dance program shaped their love of dance.
