Greetings Cultural Workers, Scientists, Educators, Dancers, and Arts Enthusiasts! I am excited to share an upcoming experience that merges art, science, and community - with a focus on uplifting women and people of color in science and physics. Dance Exchange’s presentation of "Of Equal Place: Isotopes in Motion" will take place at the Wharton Center at Michigan State University, Thursday, November 14. This work showcases the unique intersection of movement and scientific discovery, bringing together choreographers, dancers, and scientists to explore the story of isotopes, particle accelerators, and the profound human connection to the pursuit of knowledge. "Of Equal Place: Isotopes In Motion" invites community partners (including local dancers and local physicists from FRIB - the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams) onto the stage, and audiences into a world where dance and science meet, sparking curiosity and broadening our understanding of both fields. The performance offers not just a viewing experience but opportunities to tour FRIB and youth workshops to engage young people through embodied arts-integrated practices. If you are passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration and exploring how the arts can amplify scientific inquiry, I encourage you to learn more and join us in Michigan!
