Announcing the next Scientific Exchange! On November 20th, ARM, ISCT, International Society for Cell & Gene Therapy, and Danaher Corporation will convene key stakeholders to explore how to advance gene editing platforms. This Scientific Exchange with the FDA seeks to make progress on therapeutic development for rare conditions that are scientifically feasible but commercially non-viable. Successful platforms hold promise to deliver faster and broader patient access to novel gene therapies while maintaining a?favorable risk-benefit balance and appropriate regulatory rigor.?We will review case studies from academics and industry developers focused on gene editing, with the objective of defining repeatable platforms that streamline development and regulatory requirements across multiple therapies for rare populations. This year, in an inspiring display of creativity and collaboration—and the most competitive year in the program’s history—associates from our #diagnostics businesses submitted an impressive 140 groundbreaking project ideas for evaluation. Selection committees composed of innovation champions and subject matter experts from each of our diagnostics businesses evaluated the projects based on complexity, risk and novelty. Ultimately, the committees bestowed 20 projects with a prestigious EII award. Congratulations to the winners: teams and inventors working across the product development lifecycle to bring forth groundbreaking solutions. Danaher’s second center enabling #precisionmedicine is now open in Carlsbad, CA. Working with Navigate BioPharma Services, Inc., the center will focus on biomarker development and clinical trial support, leveraging technologies from Cepheid, Beckman Coulter Diagnostics and Leica Biosystems under a single laboratory setting. “Our new, holistic approach to catalyzing the development of meaningful diagnostics has the potential to bring us significantly closer to realizing the potential of precision medicine to deliver the right medicine for the right patient at the right time,” said Danaher Diagnostics' Chief Science Officer Amit Agrawal, who was onsite with our EVP for Diagnostics Julie Sawyer Montgomery and leadership from Leica Biosystems, Cepheid, and Beckman Coulter Diagnostics for the opening. #speedoflife

Yesterday, our Women + Friends Associate Resource Group partnered with the Mammotome Women’s Network to host a Breast Cancer Awareness Event. The agenda focused on education and support, with speakers and sessions about Danaher’s role in #breastcancer, understanding the patient journey from a keynote speaker and first-hand breast cancer survivors, networking with local charities and mobile mammograms. We care deeply about helping breast cancer patients. In addition to Mammotome—whose breast care solutions have helped more than 11 million women worldwide have a successful procedure*—we also aim to improve diagnostics through our HER2 Beacon collaboration with Yale University, University of Pennsylvania and the Translational Breast Cancer Research Consortium.
