I want you to meet Ceaser; he is 12 and (likely) the youngest systems engineer in history now ?? He has attended NASA space camps over the past few years and is a huge fan of rockets. Over the weekend, we spent some time together and created a system model for a rocket. He developed his first system architecture, learned about requirements, and even used AI to assist him with the rocket's states. To all the systems engineers out there, maybe in a decade, you’ll see him as a colleague designing systems alongside you.

Dalus is building AI-powered hardware system design software for mission-critical industries like aerospace/defense. Using Dalus, engineers can replace outdated documents with a digital model to identify potential flaws in their system design. Traditional document-based approaches to systems engineering are outdated and fail to keep up with today’s agile hardware teams. Dalus provides an?intuitive model-based systems engineering (MBSE) platform?that centralizes all system requirements, functions, architectures, and constraints into one living digital model. Sebastian V?lkl is a second-time founder who previously worked on a project with the European Space Agency, and Eliot Khachi previously worked at Aerojet Rocketdyne (L3Harris) as a test/systems engineer. Eliot experienced firsthand how silos and poor communication in hardware development reduced the productivity and efficiencies of the teams he worked at. Dalus aims to make building hardware as fast and iterative as software development. Congrats to the team on the launch! ?? https://lnkd.in/ghPHKVi6

Modeling State Machines in Dalus ? A quick showcase on how to model different states for a system and trigger different actions based on the systems current selected state. Over the next few weeks we will add more functionalities to modeling state machines but this is what you can today already today. #mbse #systemsengineering #ai4se

?? Dalus Product Updates CW 06 ?? tldr: Improved Requirements (ReqIF import + Subrequirements), Copilot with better context from Model and State transitions Improved Requirements Management - User can now import their existing requirements through the standardized ReqIF standard. - Users can now create sub-requirements - Users can now define the type of requirements (e.g., safety, performance, etc.) Adding context for the AI Copilot from the Model - Users can now add specific sub-systems/components from the system model and attach them to the AI Copilot to get even better results. This is helpful, especially in large projects, so the AI knows what context it should look at. State transitions - Users can now use states and transitions to trigger different actions in the Model full changelog in the comments

What are the applications of AI-powered systems engineering? ?? At Dalus, we spend a lot of time identifying the best use cases for providing systems engineers with powerful AI to make them more efficient daily. Things you can already do today in Dalus: 1. Information retrieval from your system model to gather insights. 2. Using the Copilot to ask questions about the model, which is beneficial for new hires or non-engineering stakeholders to understand the system. 3. Working with existing engineering documentation to automate model checking based on information in a PDF using RAG or allowing it to auto-generate components of the system. We have some really exciting things in the works that we can unveil soon. What is something you wish you could do with AI? #mbse #systemsengineering #ai4se #sysmlv2

?? Dalus Product Updates CW 05 ?? tldr: Improved AI-Copilot, GitLab Integration, added Ports, and more ?? AI & Core Infrastructure Improved knowledge management (RAG) for our Copilot to handle more complex engineering documentation. ?? Parts & System Modeling Users can now define interfaces on parts without defining connections. For example, if you have a valve that accepts a certain type of control signal, has a max power limit/voltage level, and a port size, i.e., 3/4". Users can add this part to their model BEFORE knowing all the details of the actual connection, such as the actual control logic, power, and flow rate. State Transitions (Beta): Trigger automated actions when your system changes modes (e.g., "active" → "standby"). Early adopters can test this in preview. ?? Integrations & Security GitLab integration:? Now available in development environments for streamlined CI/CD workflows. Production rollout is coming soon. Enhanced invite system and authentication safeguards for team accounts. (Link in comments for full changelog)
