Black History Month is an opportunity to remember and honor the remarkable legacy of Black leaders, educators, and trailblazers who have shaped our community, country, and world. They are an inspiration to all by showing us what is possible when things seem improbable. Sam Tasby, a World War II veteran and a father of six was a local champion for civil rights. He was passionate about education and equal rights and was integral in the 23-year landmark case that desegregated our Dallas ISD schools.
