In honor of National Spike Appreciation Month, the Dallas BA would like to recognize a few of its hardworking Spike Club members. At #4 with 1247.00 Spike credits is Leslie Woods with ACES Builders Warranty. She has been a member of the Association for 12 years and has served on the Membership and Retention Committee. Leslie emphasizes that the key to attracting new members lies in educating the community about the significant contributions made by the Dallas Builders Association, the Texas Association of Builders, and the National Association of Home Builders to the construction industry. She also highlights the organization’s unique culture, describing it as a supportive and collaborative "big family" where members work together without competing against one another. Leslie enjoys spending her free time with her grandchildren in Colorado.

The National Association of Home Builders recognizes and rewards peer-to-peer recruiting through the Spike Club. Members of the Spike Club receive several benefits and recognition throughout the year. Qualifying members receive national recognition on the Spike Wall of Fame and Top 100 leaderboards. Additionally, the NAHB Spike Club includes unique lapel pins for each level of achievement. These Spike Club levels range from Spike Candidate (1-5.5 credits) to Life Spike (25 credits) to Royal Spike (150 credits) all the way up to All-Time Big Spike (1500+ credits). ***** Thank you Spikes for all that you do!!!

Harold Peek, a pioneering figure in Dallas’s construction industry and former mayor of University Park, has been inducted into the Texas Housing Hall of Honor. The Texas Association of Builders (TAB) honored Mr. Peek at its Excellence in Leadership Dinner Nov. 20, at the Hyatt Lost Pines in Bastrop, TX. Harold Peek joined Randy Birdwell of Central Texas and the late Larry Johnson of Houston as inductees into the 2024 Texas Housing Hall of Honor as voted upon by the Texas Housing Hall of Honor Board of Governors.
