We hear Black Friday is still a thing but we are WAY more excited about Small Business Saturday. Planning on starting the day with donuts at Sweet Kneads Bakery here in Farmington, then getting some comic books at Mind's Eye Comics at Burnsville Center for the comic book lover in the family. We usually think of using ceiling fans to feel cooler in the summer but did you know you can also use them in winter to feel warmer? Reverse your ceiling fan to spin clockwise at low speed during winter. This redistributes warm air that gathers at the ceiling, keeping your home evenly heated, reducing the strain on your heating system, and saving you money.

Farmington! Don't throw away your old broken or unwanted string lights. Instead, for proper disposal between now and January 31, you can bring them to: Farmington City Hall, 430 Third Street Farmington Liquors, 18350 Pilot Knob Farmington Liquors, 923 Eighth Street Holiday lights are also accepted year-round at The Recycling Zone at 3365 Dodd Road in Eagan. Every year as we put up lights we find a strand or 5 that doesn't work. Ergh. Don't throw holiday lights in the trash as they contain materials that can be harmful to the environment. The Recycling Zone in Eagan accepts lights year-round and nearly all cities have someplace to drop yours off between Nov. 15 and Jan 31.
