Ashley is an Afrolachian sociologist, data analyst, and grassroots organizer with extensive research experience in areas such as land grants, civil rights, and social determinants of health. They founded "Queering the Fat Body," an initiative focused on empowering queer and trans people of color to access healthy food while challenging size-based discrimination. With a degree in sociology from Fayetteville State University and significant work with the International Civil Rights Center and Museum, Ashley brings a deep commitment to social justice and the wellness of marginalized communities.
