关于我们
We offer developers, business and property owners and users experienced legal representation in all aspects of real estate development, ownership and operation. Each attorney with our firm has multiple areas of deep expertise, as well as years of experience working with members of the real estate community. Our overlapping complementary skill sets provide the foundation for working together and with our clients and our contacts within the real estate community provide the ability to assemble the team necessary for assessing and/or completing any project. Whether we are permitting, litigating, advocating or documenting, our firm and network gives us each access to different perspectives, experience and knowledge, and the ability to bring practical solutions to the complexities faced in any matter. Few other business transactions are as fraught with potential risk and liability, yet hold such opportunities for beneficial return, as real estate development, ownership and operation. Our goal is not solely to secure a permit, close a deal or win a lawsuit, but ultimately to see our clients' projects thrive. Our experience and market-based knowledge mean we are there, working with our clients from concept through occupancy.

Last week, Dain Torpy hosted a hybrid event in collaboration with Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association where our attorneys shared stories of their experience and industry knowledge with students interested in real estate law. What a great opportunity it was to connect, share valuable insights, and explain to students how a career in real estate helps to shape communities and meet the social challenges of the moment. A big thank you to MBLA for partnering with us on this impactful event. We look forward to more opportunities to collaborate in the future! #MBLA #LeadershipInsights #RealEstateLaw #DainTorpy

At Dain Torpy we are excited to continue celebrating Women’s History Month. All month long, we are highlighting the transformative work of our women attorneys. Meet Molly Myers! This year, Molly was elevated to Shareholder and Director at Dain Torpy —a well-deserved recognition of her dedication, expertise, and leadership. She thrives on facilitating complex transactions and finding pragmatic solutions that help clients move their projects forward and achieve their business goals. Among her many contributions to the firm, Molly established the Dain Torpy Women’s Initiative in 2023. In her words, Molly “wanted to create a space for the women attorneys to share successes and lean on each other in navigating difficult situations often common to women.” She is committed to creating opportunities for her colleagues to contribute to sophisticated matters, inspiring confidence and supporting professional growth. One way Molly gives back to the community is through her involvement with Heading Home, a non-profit organization that provides shelter and support services to adults and children experiencing homelessness in Eastern Massachusetts. As a Junior Board member, she helps raise awareness of the homelessness crisis and helps fundraise to support Heading Home’s critical work in its mission to end homelessness for children and adults. Molly notes that she is “proud to be at a Firm that is committed to championing women in the real estate and legal industries.” We are equally as proud to have Molly as part of the Dain Torpy team - her leadership, vision, and commitment to uplifting her fellow women attorneys and the community continue to inspire us all. Dain Torpy is proud to be celebrating Women’s History Month. This month we are continuing to spotlight our women attorneys. Meet Associate Attorney Sarah McHale! Surrounded by lawyers growing up, Sarah was always impressed by their measured approach to problem-solving. She admired how they remained composed and confident, guiding their clients and others in their lives toward productive outcomes. This influence inspired her to pursue a career in law. Now, as an attorney herself, Sarah’s goal is to offer that same sense of support and clarity to her clients when they encounter challenging situations of their own. A recent graduate of Suffolk University Law School, Sarah feels “very lucky to be able to start her practice at a firm that not only supports but actively encourages the growth and success of its women attorneys.” She recognizes that while the legal profession often presents challenges for women, limiting opportunities for advancement, her experience at Dain Torpy has been refreshingly different. “The women here serve as powerful role models for the next generation of lawyers, demonstrating that it is possible to ‘do it all,’” says Sarah. “The balance between personal and professional life can be demanding, but the women in the office inspire me every day to find that balance.” She also values how the firm encourages all its attorneys to prioritize work-life balance, believing it enriches not just their personal lives, but also the lives of their families and clients. We are proud to have Sarah as part of our team and look forward to her continued success and contributions to the legal profession! At Dain Torpy, we are excited to be celebrating Women’s History Month. This month, we are spotlighting the remarkable work of our women attorneys. Meet Senior Associate, Natasha K. Winter! With her sharp analytical mindset, Natasha has found real estate and zoning litigation to be a perfect fit. She thrives in advocating on behalf of her clients to affirm their land use rights, and help them make their projects a reality. Last fall, Natasha had the opportunity to first-chair a Land Court trial alongside Abigail LaFontan who second-chaired. As Natasha’s first time leading a trial team, it was a great experience having another woman attorney alongside her to present their case to the Court, without the typical male partner figure.?As a senior associate, it was also a good opportunity for Natasha to be a mentor. She finds that “It’s really important to mentor younger women and share your experiences with other women because we can’t get further if we don’t help everyone else along the way”. At Dain Torpy, we are committed to being involved in the community. Natasha’s active involvement in organizations like The Real Estate Bar Association for Massachusetts, the Women's Bar Association of Massachusetts, CREW Boston, and NAIOP Massachusetts exemplifies this commitment. Recently, Natasha attended a special event sponsored by NAIOP with Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll and Housing Secretary Ed Augustus entitled “Unlocking the Housing Production Commission”, where the speakers discussed creative ideas to increase housing supply in Massachusetts and address the challenges hindering housing production.?She believes its her duty, as someone in the industry, to know and educate others on housing issues in the Commonwealth, while also working towards solutions. Her pro-bono work of tax lien representation for those at risk of losing their homes and involvement in the Young Professional’s Society at St. Francis House, a local day shelter, further reflects her dedication to supporting those most affected by the Massachusetts housing crisis. As an attorney, Natasha is grateful for all the women before her who have broken the glass ceiling and makes it a point to be an active contributor to the growth of women in law. In her experience, Dain Torpy is “truly is an equal-feeling workplace” in which women attorneys are empowered to thrive. Natasha’s dedication to her clients and her passion for supporting women in law make her an invaluable member of the Dain Torpy team! At Dain Torpy, we are excited to be celebrating Women's History Month. This month, we're highlighting the amazing work of our women attorneys. Meet Associate Attorney Abigail LaFontan! ? A learner at heart, Abigail enjoys how multidisciplinary legal practice can be. She notes that, by its nature, this work requires constant engagement with people of diverse backgrounds to facilitate community-based advocacy. And she finds that her environmentalist values help guide the production of satisfying, tangible work product in the real estate industry.?? ? This past fall, Abigail second-chaired a three-day Land Court trial alongside Natasha K. Winter, as first-chair.?For her, this experience of working on an all-women, and woman-led, trial team was indicative of Dain Torpy’s mission to foster the growth and success of our women attorneys. Abigail finds that having so many women role models early in her career has been instrumental in her growth as an attorney. She takes these experiences to heart and makes it a point to be a role model herself. “As I gain more and more experience, it is absolutely my goal to intentionally follow and exemplify the mission of the Women’s Initiative”. She believes that “it has planted in her this seed of intentionality” that we need to approach women’s mentoring with our own unique perspectives and has taught her how to give women resources and support in the legal field. ? Outside of the office, Abigail currently co-chairs the fundraising committee for The Rose Kennedy Greenway’s annual Glow in the Park event. The Greenway is a nonprofit organization that manages an activated green space in Downtown Boston. Moving to Boston, she wanted to get involved with community-based engagement in urban greenspaces. She says, “I got involved with the Greenway to help support their mission to offer a vibrant, inclusive, and healthy urban greenspace”. And she remarks that the Greenway’s environmental stewardship model is inspiring. This year, Abigail is fundraising for the Greenway’s annual “Glow in the Park” event which is being held on June 6th. This event will support the Conversancy’s efforts to connect Boston neighborhoods through community-based events that are sustainable and equitable. Click here to learn more about the Greenway: https://lnkd.in/eyM7azZT ? Abigail’s unique perspective on real estate law and dedication to the advancement of women in law makes her an incredible asset to our team. We are excited to see her growth here at Dain Torpy!? #WomeninLaw #WomensInitiative #WomensHistoryMonth #DainTorpy
