We are honored to organize a coffee & latte art workshop with Man Kwan Pak Kau College. Mr. Kan Chi Ming (Kam), a volunteer from the "Build with Fathers: A Sustainable Fatherhood Mutual Development Network" project, was invited as the tutor to guide the parents on how to use the coffee machine, the skills of coffee brewing and latte art. In the interview hosted by AM730, They introduced the purpose and long-term goals of the project and shared how to achieve a sense of belonging and satisfaction in dads network. It aims to deepen the support network among fathers in Tin Shui Wai and expand the network from Tin Shui Wai to Tuen Mun and Yuen Long. By organising activities to establish gathering points, the project will develop a mutual support network among fathers in the three districts. It also encourages and trains the fathers to be volunteers of “DADs Community”, so as to enhance their participation in the community, support families in need in the districts, and establish mutual trust and benefits among them. We feel a bit reluctant to end the "不賭大富翁2022" project, co-sponsored by the Ping Wo Fund, was successfully concluded at the end of 2024. Over the past two years of the project, we have been involved in the planning and organization of board game competitions, the emergence of winner and the completion of board game production. This process has been filled with challenges, but we have gained valuable experience. Additionally, we have visited over twenty primary and secondary schools, conducting board game experience activities with students and parents. Through the approach of "Educational Games", we have effectively promoted the message of “Don’t Gamble”, helping participants understand the harmful effects and consequences of gambling. We are grateful for the successful implementation and completion of this project. Funded by the Commission on Children, the 《童心合歷?玩動家》 project focuses on the theme of "Physical and Mental Development, Recreational Activities for Children." Various activities are integrated with sports, adventure games, and parent-child elements to deepen caregivers' understanding of the importance of sports and games in child development. We previously held the "NES Lite! Newly Emerged Sports Funday" in the Tseung Kwan O district, allowing many middle school families to experience the fun of urban orienteering, learning basic orienteering skills, and enjoying parent-child cooperation in finding checkpoints. The Sports Funday was successfully held with the full support of the MOPC 山海公城 and parent volunteers from The Hong Kong Chinese Christian Churches Union Logos Academy. Nearly 200 people participated in the Sports Funday, and it was great to see many fathers cherishing quality time with their families, and enhancing family relationships through sports. It's a win-win situation! After the event, we found that 85% of participants expressed their willingness to participate again or recommend orienteering to others. Nearly 30% of participants also significantly increased their motivation to join family sports through this event in the future.
