Georgia on my mind!
Heading back to Washington, I really have Ray Charles' version of "Georgia on my mind"... yes exactly, on my mind. It has been a fascinating introduction to the great Peach State. I learned a lot.
I had a great meeting with Governor Brian Kemp where we discussed issues of common interests. We delved into business opportunities in Georgia for Danish companies. And we discussed why it is so important for the United States to continue its support to Ukraine. And yes, we also touched on US politics...
Do you remember the elections in 2020, and what happend in Georgia? Yeah, I think many do. For this reason, I also spent time talking politics and especially the outlook for Georgia in the upcoming elections.
The question about election integrity was front and center in the meeting with the Chairman of the Fulton County Board Robb Pitts. Thanks for all your efforts, Chairman.
And in the meeting with the Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party, Josh McKoon I was obviously very interested in his assessment of who will win the elections in Georgia. His guess will not be a surprise, but I will keep that part of the conversation confidential ?? Thanks to Ginger Howard for very insight observations as well!
Likewise, I had an opportunity to discuss which subjects are the most important to voters in Sandy Springs in my meeting with Republican Mayor Russell K Paul.
Together with the Governor, I attended the grand opening of Kamstrup production facitilies in Cumming. Thanks so much to Bruce Bharat, CEO Soren Kvorning, and the whole Kamstrup North America team for the invitation to address your impressive audience. We wish you great success here in the US. You are certainly off to a great start with your new site!
I also had the opportunity to meet Hydrema group, and thanks to Kresten Binder for a great tour. It was so much fun to drive the world's largest fully electric dump truck!
John W. Woodward most kindly hosted a very fruitful roundtable with Danish and American businesses at the Metro Atlanta Chamber. I learned so much about the huge potential for even further business engagements between our two countries. Thanks to Daniel Lindgaard Breum Rob Strasser Peter Fejfer Claus Abrahamsen Jan Rene Knudsen Gert Adolphsen Karina Nielsen Steen Hagensen Camilla Trosbjerg Daniels, SPHR? and many others for attending!
I want to thank our amazing and very energetic honorary consul Christopher Smith for his support to Denmark and Danes in Georgia.
Finally, a huge THANK YOU to our Consul General in Chicago Jesper K?ks Andersen and to Sofie R?berg Mikkelsen for accompanying me on this hectic and inspiring trip around Georgia. You are not only good company, but also amazing drivers ??
