Maybe some of our docs can weigh in on this topic?
I find this very important and interesting. Taken individually, seven of the studies found a significant positive association between cannabis use and heart attack incidence, while four showed no significant difference and one showed a slightly negative association. When the researchers pooled the data from all studies and analyzed it together, they found a significant positive association, with active cannabis users being 1.5 times as likely to suffer a heart attack compared with those who aren’t current users. https://lnkd.in/dsnDyTUY

In my latest "Ask Dr. Leigh" column for Hearst's GreenState publication, I answer the question, can #cannabis help #ulcerative colitis and #crohn's disease? Have a look if you, or someone you know, suffer from these #IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) conditions! https://lnkd.in/gMEC2PqS

D4DPR?Expert Dr. Jeffrey Singer on Reason.com yesterday discussing the House's passage of the HALT?Act. "If lawmakers continue to double down on the same prohibitionist policies they have used for over 50 years, deaths from illicit drug overdoses will keep rising. Repeating the same actions, with even more intensity this time, will not produce a different outcome. Until lawmakers abandon their tired rituals of prohibitionist theater, they will continue to fuel needless suffering and loss." https://lnkd.in/g5HaufCQ

It was a true privilege to represent MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society and the Maryland Cannabis Public Health Advisory Council today before the Maryland Senate Finance Committee. It is an honor to contribute to such meaningful discussions. Grateful to be joined by Emergency Medicine physician, Dr. Leigh Vinocur, MD, MS, FACEP who also provided oral testimony on behalf of the Maryland Cannabis Public Health Advisory Council. #publichealthoverprofit
Deondra Asike, MD, Chair of MedChi's Cannabis Committee, testified on SB215 Cannabis-On-Site Consumption Establishments and Cannabis Events. She expressed public health concerns on this matter on behalf of MedChi.
