How do we measure success? I have been in business on my own for 4 years and I am extremely busy. I thought that I would struggle with getting new work but somehow it just happens. I really don't do any marketing but instead I get leads from people connected to projects that I work on. 90% of my success comes from networking on existing project and the connections that I make based on my skills of how I help people. I don't do much with marketing groups, they can't show your true value. Your value comes out with the successes of completing work. I also go above and beyond for my clients, they need to feel that they are getting the value out of your services you are providing..... I worked for a firm about 6 years ago that hired me as a director and they sent me around to all of the local developers to tell them how great we were. It never worked and was the wrong model for marketing. There is no value in what you can say unless you can show a developer what you can do, they work with 10 other architects so how are you better then them? People put value on a person that knows how to get stuff done and they need to see it first hand... You want to land a client invite them to a current project or show them how you solved a problem on a past project but never, never try to tell them how good you are.

Last month I posted a Revit tutorial on creating a massing model on a fictitious site by extracting the grading and coordinates from Google. I have continued with another tutorial to develop roads and sidewalks. https://lnkd.in/gSjKV_7i
