??The D3C International Fair! ?? Last Tuesday, we hosted an International Fair where each group presented prevalent social issues and their creative solutions through data, design and art. ??: ??LGBTQIA+?? This interactive Art Exhibit highlights LGBTQIA+ stories across space and time. Their team is currently surveying members of the community, and are designing data-driven interactive physical installations. ??ANCOR This educational website and resource hub bridges the gap in political education. ANCOR features a comprehensive dictionary for political jargon and tools to make political education more accessible. ???? Palestine This website is an interactive story map which plots universities in Gaza, showing student/martyr stories. It features a visual slider illustrating the aftermath of university destruction. Using ArcGIS, stats, and personal narratives, it powerfully presents Gaza’s scholasticide. ??Moo’d? This Davis-themed mental health app tackles inaccessibility of mental healthcare in Davis by streamlining UC Davis resources. Using Swift, Firebase, and Figma, it curates personalized support and features a reward system where users earn points to decorate a cute cow for being proactive in their mental health. ??Davis Bites Back In this documentary, we’ve teamed up with the Davis Farmers Market and the students of UC Davis to highlight important stories and challenges around food insecurity on campus and throughout Davis. This project dives into various experiences of individuals dealing with food insecurity, while also considering the accessibility of food resources available. ♀?Women’s Rights & Safety This team is developing a data visualization dashboard that highlights stats about women in underrepresented fields across the globe. They aim to bring attention to important topics within the feminist space, like the presence of women in politics and experiences of BIPOC women. D3C Members had a wonderful time getting acquainted with each other’s projects. They shared ideas, received live feedback, and fostered a sense of community and inspiration.?? We look forward to seeing the projects and their members' impact ripple through our communities, our campus, and the world at large! ???
