'A remarkable public servant who impacted millions of people': The d-mars.com team, Houston and political communities are mourning the loss of former Houston mayor Sylvester Turner. Turner was an avid supporter of Keith “MR. D-MARS” Davis, Sr. and the d-mars.com team. He attended several events hosted by d-mars.com, including the recent Top 50 Black Professionals & Entrepreneurs of Texas Awards Gala. In an Instagram post, he described the event as, “an incredible celebration of excellence, leadership, and achievement.” He will be greatly missed by the Houston community and beyond.??? I have chosen to serve the people. ?? During Black History Month, I stand in gratitude, knowing that I am making history—just like so many others—because we choose to show up. Not for the titles or accolades, but for the purpose and the people. To be included in the Top 50 Black Professionals at a time when DEI is under attack is a reminder that this moment is truly for a time such as this. I’m deeply grateful to d-mars.com for seeing me, highlighting my journey, and allowing me to share our collective story. Congratulations to everyone honored and to the countless unsung heroes who show up every day to make a difference. I literally attended the funeral of my dear friend and mentor, Tanya Debose, that morning—celebrating her life and legacy—and then had to show up to celebrate this moment. Both reminded me of the importance of time, purpose, and perseverance. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for, and this is just the beginning. ??
