A fueling facility in Tanknology’s Gulf Coast region requested a TankCam? inspection of a 6,000 gallon steel tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held E-85. The TankCam inspection showed oxidation, sludge, residue and minor corrosion throughout the tank. Unusual stains were found at the striker plate and the seam between side and endcap of the tank. The tank held regular unleaded. The TankCam inspection showed an active water ingress through a crack in the endcap. Residue was observed throughout tank and flaking and peeling were found. After the product was removed, the TankCam inspection located the source of the ingress. The inspection showed that the STP and drop tube looked new, although a small, periodic drip was observed from the STP manway and the vapor recovery bung.   • It’s Tank Trouble Tuesday! A fueling facility in Tanknology’s Ohio Valley region requested a TankCam? inspection of a 4,000 gallon fiberglass tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held regular unleaded. The TankCam inspection showed numerous water running down interior walls of the tank. Drips were also found that appeared to originate near the tank bungs. The source of the drips was not determined and the inspection showed no substantial water ingress, however the large number of water drips suggests a water ingress is present.
