A day to remember! We recently opened our doors to our families to share the incredible work our teams do in Frankfurt, Germany. For many, it was their first time experiencing a data center, and our team took great pride in showing their families around. ???Bridging the Gap:?Opening our doors to the?Sossenheim community Last week, in collaboration with the GERMAN DATACENTER ASSOCIATION e.V. (GDA), our CyrusOne team in Frankfurt opened their doors to the Sossenheim community, offering an opportunity for local people to tell us what matters to them, while learning more about the?critical role data centers play in?their daily lives and the local economic benefits they offer.????? We know from our latest research, 'Listening to Communities'?that there is a significant knowledge gap in people's understanding of?what a data center is and the digital services they enable, with only?48%?of people in Germany making the connection between the two.?Education and engagement are essential therefore to reduce the challenges to growth in capacity exacerbated by lack of public understanding. ???Our research findings also show that community engagement must be for the long term, it must be bespoke, and it must demonstrate economic dividend. We believe in standing shoulder-to-shoulder as an industry to deliver meaningful benefits to our host communities. This was CyrusOne’s impetus to conduct the research, it is why efforts like the one led by the GDA for the second year running are so crucial, and why we are sharing the findings so broadly.??
