Just wrapped up an incredible, productive, and heart warming service trip with Cypress Missions in Barnardsville, North Carolina, alongside an amazing team from Eckerd College! As the Communication Intern for Cypress, it was an honor to document and participate in the work we did—connecting with the community, assisting those in need, and witnessing the impact of service firsthand. Working in a place that often goes overlooked reinforced the importance of showing up where it matters most. Seeing my peers from Eckerd and the Cypress team come together with such dedication was truly inspiring. We completed more projects than anticipated, working together to help rebuild this community. Grateful for this opportunity to serve, learn, and share these stories. Volunteers are the quiet heroes who defy the odds every day. They step into disaster zones when others step out. They uplift communities that have been overlooked.
