Last week, I had the privilege of speaking at the 10th anniversary of the Columbus Impact Academy’s session, 'Finding Your Place and Purpose.' Sharing my personal story on stage was both vulnerable and empowering. I was honored to stand alongside incredible leaders: Simon'e Williams, MBA, Jeffrey Price, Christopher Wyche, Nic Fortkamp and Erica Howard, SHRM-CP Hearing their journeys reminded me how impactful it is to learn and draw strength from others’ paths to purpose and belonging. We often fixate on the challenges and struggles, but it is in those dark moments where we truly learn and grow. If we're not learning, we're not growing. Thank you to the Columbus Young Professionals (CYP) Club for the opportunity to share my personal story publicly for the first time and for hosting such an inspiring event!

I had the pleasure of attending the Columbus Young Professionals (CYP) Club Coffee with a Cause event this morning, where the panelists dove into the Pulse of Nonprofits in Central Ohio. It was an inspiring and insightful conversation, highlighting the impact and challenges our nonprofit organizations are facing in the region. From addressing critical community needs to fostering meaningful partnerships, it remains clear that nonprofits play a vital role in the growth and well-being of Central Ohio. This event reinforced the importance of collaboration between the public, private, and nonprofit sectors to create lasting change. Lets continue doing work for the greater good! As Columbus attracts more attention from major companies, thanks to its affordable cost of living and endless activities, more people are choosing to call it home. The Volunteer Administrators' Network (VAN) of Central Ohio is in need of new board members for next year. It would be a great first board position for anyone involved with volunteering. Last week, I had the chance to speak at one of my favorite local organization’s events, the Emerging Leaders Summit, hosted by Columbus Young Professionals (CYP) Club in collaboration with the HRACO Human Resources Association of Central Ohio & the Columbus Chamber of Commerce And what better place to host an event than the Grange, home of Goodwill Columbus! Sharing the stage with other great leaders from around Columbus and learning from everyone was truly a remarkable experience. Special thanks to Derek Grosso for having me! Lastly, the coolest part of the day was the number of people who came up to me afterward from Cleveland, Columbus, Marion, Cincinnati, and Wooster, all eager to share how Goodwill has positively impacted a family member.
