During the discussion, we talked about launching new products in the cyber and defense technology markets during wartime, highlighting that: - the demands and needs from the frontline, conventional and cyber, speed up the development of the unique projects and features, highly interesting for Allies - the key benefits of Ukrainian defense and cyber products and solutions - being battlefield proven and cost effective - the case of UnitRange by Cyber Unit Technologies: Ukrainian cyber range - a platform for training cyber specialists based on recent cyber attacks on Ukraine by russian hackers. Today, we had the honor of presenting the Ukrainian approach to cybersecurity training in extreme conditions during wartime to Mart Noorma. Our main message: practical training with real-time simulations of hacker attacks is the top priority today.

The final first stage of the CTF competition at Cyber Range UA successfully completed! On October 26, the National Aviation University hosted the final stage of the cybersecurity educational project CTF at Cyber Range UA. Around 30 students and faculty members competed in teams, demonstrating their practical cybersecurity skills. Congratulations to our winners! Cyber Range UA is a joint project of the National Aviation University, National Cybersecurity Coordination Center at NSDC of Ukraine, and Cyber Unit Technologies, supported by CRDF Global and U.S. Department of State. ?? Coming next: We're launching a new wave of the project next semester and planning to expand opportunities for students from other Ukrainian universities!

On Friday, the second #ITUCyberTech Committee’s Strategic Session took place with participating representatives of iIT Distribution, Seeton, ISSP - Information Systems Security Partners, FS Group, Nova Digital, Cyber Unit Technologies - CyberUnit.Tech, AmonSul Tech, and Asters. The following focus topics and further committee work priorities were discussed: ??? Overcoming regulatory uncertainty; ??? Implementing a culture of cybersecurity; ??? Strengthening Ukraine's reputation as a reliable cyber hub to increase competitiveness in the global market; ??? Creating a Ukrainian CyberTech brand. During the strategic sessions, market and stakeholder mapping is implemented to be embodied in a catalogue with an analysis of the market and its participants, trends, achievements and challenges, as well as forecasts of the industry's prospects and opportunities. The IT Ukraine Association plans to use this catalogue in its international activities to attract new partners, clients and investors and actively promote Ukrainian tech brands by sector. ???? ????On the Second Day of the IT Arena in Lviv, dozens of cyber specialists participated in the unique workshop “Cybersecurity – Capture the Flag by Kyiv International Cyber Resilience Forum.” ???Lviv's Mayor Andriy Sadovyi opened the CTF Competition with welcome words to the attendees: “We experienced a pretty serious cyber attack at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. In fact, it took us two weeks to stabilize the operations. But, thanks to wise specialists, we fixed the situation. Therefore, it is necessary to invest human and financial resources in countering this threat, because there will be even more cyber attacks…Therefore, your work is extremely necessary. I hope that after this workshop you will have more knowledge and more skills you can apply to minimize such threats. And you will have maximum support from us.” Based on the Ukrainian platform UnitRange, during 3 hours participants gained a unique experience immersing themselves in a simulation of Threat Hunting against a real APT attack by russian cyber espionage threat group Gamaredon on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure. Teams analyzed existing attack data, including anomalies, unusual patterns, and hidden sequences, and quickly found as many “flags” as possible, each bringing the team closer to revealing the full picture of the attack. A clear understanding of the details of the attack helps to respond effectively and prevent similar attacks in the future. ?? Next year, 6-7 February 2025 (TBC), CTF will be a part of the Kyiv International Cyber Resilience Forum (KICRF) program, an annual leading event in the field of cybersecurity in Ukraine and Central Eastern Europe.
