Today we took an important step towards securing the foundation of the internet. ONCD's Border Gateway Protocol Roadmap, along the working group we’re standing up with Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and private sector partners, is taking on a hard problem that has long-threatened the security of internet traffic. The Federal Government is committed to leading by example by registering a majority of our registered IP space by the end of the year. Thanks to our partners at National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and Federal Communications Commission and the private sector for helping take on a hard problem that has long-threatened the security of internet traffic. Yesterday, the White House convened government and industry leaders to unveil the new National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Post-Quantum Cryptographic standards. ONCD is diligently working with our partners to prepare for the post-quantum future through the National Cybersecurity Strategy. We are supporting the implementation of NSM-10 by conducting an inventory of government systems as well as working with our allies across the international community to create a cohesive message to implement post-quantum cryptography. This work seeks to drive a collective call to action for government leaders and financial decision makers to prioritize the cryptographic transition today. ONCD is committed to solving hard problems in cybersecurity. Today, in partnership with members of the Open-Source Software Security Initiative, we are publishing an RFI Summary Report on Open-Source Software Security and Memory Safety. Last year at #DefCon we launched an RFI to?ask the community for input, we listened to the feedback and now we're ensuring this community has the opportunity to see where we are one year later. We have outlined twelve Federal Government actions to secure the open-source software ecosystem: https://lnkd.in/eHDGYTer Today ONCD and the White House Climate Policy Office released our priorities for a cyber-enabled energy future. Building security and resilience into the foundations of key clean energy technologies from the start will deliver a more ambitious, abundant, and affordable energy future.?Learn more: https://lnkd.in/epvfsxcg
