Even so, #StartUp orgs especially are among the most targeted by hackers, especially those that participate in a larger supply chain or have access to sensitive data. As we ramp-up for the CxO Security Forum for Small Businesses & Start-Ups in NYC next month, it's been interesting to see how under-served those growth-stage and medium enterprises are when it comes to #cybersecurity solutions. It's easy for Solution Providers to have big $$ products/services for large orgs, but with so many attacks targeted to the #SMB space, good to see those like Illumio are recognizing that gap. #ZeroTrust is particularly important for as a strategy here.

Congratulations to #NEACS Alumni Zilla Security on their acquisition by CyberArk! They have been way ahead in Identity Governance (IGA), and the scale of the new organization will facilitate great strides in bringing their innovation to the masses.

You've probably read lots of stories about how the upstart Chinese AI chat company DeepSeek could be a security threat, but where's the beef? Well, the people at the mobile app security firm NowSecure have published a security and privacy analysis of the app's design and behavior, and it's not pretty. Here's the lede: "New mobile apps from the Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) company DeepSeek have remained among the top three “free” downloads for Apple and Google devices since their debut on Jan. 25, 2025. But experts caution that many of DeepSeek’s design choices — such as using hard-coded encryption keys, and sending unencrypted user and device data to Chinese companies — introduce a number of glaring security and privacy risks." https://lnkd.in/e7EAWHAX

Great news for the #DHS Cyber & Infrastructure Security Agency (#CISA) that Karen S. Evans has been named a senior advisor with the agency. Karen has been a leading voice in Federal #cybersecurity and #IT since her days in the Bush '43 White House, where she essentially served as the first Federal #CIO. More recently, she served as the Assistant Secretary for Cyber at #Energy and as the DHS CIO during the first Trump Administration. Can't think of a better cyber leader to help spearhead Federal cyber strategy and operations. #FederalNewsNetwork, Justin Doubleday

There are exactly?1440 minutes in a day; by recognizing this finite amount of time, you can shift your perspective on what's achievable.

Today, the Justice Department announced its participation in a multinational operation to take down the infrastructure of the online cybercrime marketplaces known as Cracked and Nulled. The FBI, working in coordination with foreign law enforcement partners, identified the servers that hosted the marketplaces, which have been seized pursuant to legal process. The Justice Department also unsealed charges against one of Nulled’s administrators, Lucas Sohn, an Argentinian national residing in Spain. Learn more about the case here: https://lnkd.in/e_TeanYT
