Illinois Bans Fluorescent Bulbs: What You Need to Know

Alfonso Garcia has been a valued member of the Connexion team since 2007. His hard work and dedication have made him an incredible part of our CX family. Alfonso's vision loss began when high blood pressure and diabetes caused the veins in his retina to burst, resulting in the loss of vision in his left eye. Shortly after, the same issue affected his right eye, leaving him unable to see. He consulted retina specialists to explore options for regaining his vision. Initially, laser surgery was performed on his right eye, but it did not improve his vision. Recently, he underwent a vitrectomy on his right eye. This procedure involves making a small incision in the white part of the eye (sclera) to remove the gel-like vitreous and any scar tissue or other materials, followed by necessary repairs. The vitreous is then replaced with silicone oil or a saline solution, depending on the condition of the eye during surgery. The outcome of his right eye surgery has been positive, with his vision gradually returning. The recovery period is expected to be 6-7 weeks. Unfortunately, his left eye has not improved, but he will undergo laser surgery in the coming days. If this does not work, he will need to have a vitrectomy on his left eye as well. Alfonso is a caring, kindhearted, and loving person and we are lucky to have him be a part of our CX family .
