Honored to be part of this event...
Today was a day filled with pride, emotion, and gratitude. A remarkable way to close out a devastating week. Our Gelson’s team banded together with our suppliers to make a difference in a community and to give back to our first responders. Less than 24 hours after reopening our La Canada store, our team was out there grilling for and serving our first responders, and a community which has been impacted by the Eaton fire. It was so remarkable to see the appreciation from our first responders for a good hot meal, and for those who have lost their homes, been displaced, or trying to navigate without power. Not only did we open our doors, we were feeding those who needed a brighter moment after a troubling week. I am beyond proud of our team and can’t thank them enough for pulling this together so quickly. A big thank you to our operations leader John Barker for making it happen. Along with our team who worked with suppliers to get donations in less than 24 hours, it speaks volumes to the partnerships we have in the marketplace. It was a shining light at the end of a week full of uncertainty and distress and was just what was needed.
