Upper Colorado River Basin states, with Utah leading out, are advancing water conservation with new initiatives. Utah's Demand Management Pilot Program compensates farmers for temporarily resting fields, leaving more water in the river system.?This saved water is protected and would be preserved in conservation banks to protect Utah farmers and water users from future compact calls. These efforts, along with additional conservation initiatives aim to ensure sustainable water resources for the future of Utah and the Colorado River. Link to the full article in the comments.

This week our conservation staff had the opportunity to attend the UTAH NURSERY AND LANDSCAPE ASSOCIATION's Annual Green Conference. This year's conference had dozens of highly valuable sessions, demonstrations, and an expo hall. Our team joined up with conservation staff from the Utah Division of Water Resources, Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District, Weber Basin Water Conservancy District, and Washington County Water Conservancy District at our joint booth to host water-related trivia. We're glad to see the Utah Demand Management Pilot Program getting some attention. The challenges we face along the Colorado River will begin to lessen because of the teamwork and innovation among different agencies, stakeholders, and water users.

Our team was privileged to donate our time to a good cause TINY TIM'S FOUNDATION FOR KIDS. Tiny Tim’s Foundation has an inspiring mission: to bring joy to children who might not otherwise receive a gift. Each hand-crafted wooden toy is made with care and love, creating not just something to play with but a memory that lasts a lifetime. Staff helped sand, apply mineral oil, and prepare wooden toy cars for children around the world. This experience reminded us of the power of service and the importance of giving back to our communities and beyond.
